5-2-1 #9

Here are 5 high performance insights I've learnt, 2 quotes from others, and 1 conversation starter/ question to think about this week.

“Believe in your own dignity.”

Don't allow anybody to make you feel that you are nobody. Always feel that you count, always feel that you have worth. And know that your life has ultimate significance. Sometimes we look at the vastness and greatness of the world and feel like we are just a speck of the grand scheme of things and that is true but know… that a small beam of light, can brighten a whole room and a tiny bit of salt, can change a whole dish.

Overheard on the streets:

“Why is God putting me in troubled waters?”

Reply goes… “Because your enemies cant swim.”

It's all about perspectives… At the end of the road, everything that you have experience will eventually turn out to be for your good. Sometimes, we lament the things that are not going well for us when it could have actually in fact be much worse.

“To win, you don't have to be first. You don't have to be best. You just have to outlast your problems.”

If what does not kill you make you stronger, if every challenge strengthen your capability to withstand pressure and every problems strengthen your character, then you WILL outlast all your problems because your problems will give up way before you do!

“Is your intelligence working for you or against you?”

If your intelligence was working for you would you create blissfulness or misery? What is the difference between the man who goes to a bar and the man who spend his time volunteering with the less fortunate? Both man are seeking the same thing. To enhance their life isn't it? If you do not show a man a proper way, they will take whatever way they find on the streets and justify it with their intelligence. Why does your intelligence work against you? Because you have an intelligence so great you don't have a stable enough platform to handle it.

“The whole human experience come from within.”

All human experience is generated from within yourself, and what comes from within you must be the way that you wanted it? Isn't it? We cant control what goes on around us but do we have control of what goes on within us? Is it true that sometimes, all we want to do is be miserable and pathetic?

“There are no strangers here… Only friends you have not met” – William Butler Yeats

“You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life”. – Winston Churchill

What are you really scared of?

Is our fears paralysing us and prevent us from becoming better, greater?

What are we holding something so tightly because we actually fear losing it? Do we want to continue to be held back by fear or do we want to break free?

Go deep, get asking.

Until next week,

Caleb & Yvonne Megan
